Go Away Rain!

Sunday, February 22nd, 2004

It’s been raining for 2 days in a row and I’m already SICK of it! Who says it never rains in Southern California? Well, whoever did, they’re wrong!

I did make it Weight Watchers this morning and stayed the same. All in all, I’m happy with that since I didn’t count points for my birthday. Hopefully things will start moving again and I can get below that 200 mark by Easter. It feels like I’ve been hovering here at 210-ish for SOOOO long now. I’m really ready to move past this and get down into the 100’s.

I did a new workout DVD yesterday that really kicked my butt. It was the Karen Voight Ultimate Circuit Training DVD. I did the complete workout with step yesterday which is a circuit of step aerobics alternating with weight training. I think I’m going to do the Combo Workout with the step and stability ball the next time I use this DVD. It was a really good workout!

I didn’t get in any stitching yesterday. I think I’m a bit daunted at the task of frogging all that stitching on Noah’s Ark. I will try to get to at least some of it today, if I have time. Tonight is our weekly bowling league, so I’m not sure how much time I’ll have for working on it.

Vacation ending

Saturday, February 21st, 2004

I’m coming down to the end of my vacation, unfortunately. I need to find a way to become independently wealthy so I can quite my job.

I did get a LOT of stitching done while I was off. I finished 3 small pieces that I’ve been working on and started Teresa Wentzler’s Noah’s Ark. Of course, I realized late last night that I made a boo-boo and left out 1 stitch horizontally which throws off the entire piece. I now have to frog about 2-3 hours worth of stitch to correct the problem.

I didn’t make it to my Weight Watchers meeting this morning. I’ll try and get by tomorrow to weigh in. The scale at home is exactly the same as last week which isn’t so bad considering I didn’t count points on my birthday and probably deserve a bit of a gain.

Post b-day

Wednesday, February 18th, 2004

So much for turning 40. Other than the fact that I didn’t worry about my diet and ate what I wanted, it was just another day. I’m not sure what I expected, but it sure wasn’t what my day was yesterday.

Oh well, life goes on…

Happy Bday!

Tuesday, February 17th, 2004

Well, today is my birthday and I’m now 40 years old. I’m not freaking out about it or anything, but it just doesn’t seem possible that I should be 40 already. In my head, I still feel about 23 or 24 years old. I guess I’ll just keep listening to my head and try not to look at gravity’s effect on my body.

I did get in a bit of stitching yesterday on a gift piece that I’m doing for a Canadian friend of mine. I’m going to be in Edmonton in May and I hope to give it to her then. It’s turning out very cute.

I’ve been doing well with my eating plan, even though the scale isn’t cooperating. I’ve been 100% on program every day this month so far, including Valentine’s Day. I have given myself permission to go off program today though for my birthday. I will be right back on track tomorrow though. I figure a birthday only comes once per year and I want to enjoy it and not worry about the diet. I know that going off track for one day isn’t going to make a dent in the grand scheme of things. Given that the scale hasn’t been moving much lately anyway, I don’t think this will kill me.

Vacation!

Monday, February 16th, 2004

YAY! It finally arrived! I’m on vacation all of this week. I could NOT be more thrilled. I have been really burned out lately at work, so this is MUCH needed. My co-workers would probably agree, too.

I did get in some good stitching time this weekend. I have 2 small projects almost finished. One is a Christmas ornie and the other is a small gift project for a friend of mine. So, that one I can’t talk about too much here since she might be reading. I also started a new model stitching project that is really pretty. It’s stitched with silks and I’m loving it. This is one I will definitely stitch again to keep for myself.

On the weight loss front, I’m started to get frustrated. I thought I was going to have such a nice loss this past week and then ended up only losing 0.2 at weigh in on Saturday. I SOOOOO want to see the scale moving downward more quickly again. All I can do is keep following my Weight Watchers program and trust it realizing that eventually all of my hard work will catch up on the scale.

This week is certainly a challenge for me staying on track with WW. I did OK Saturday night for Valentine’s Day, but I did use up 13 of my FlexPoints. Tomorrow is my 40th birthday and my DH is taking me out to dinner. I asked to go to Red Lobster so that it will be easier for me to have a nice dinner and stay on program. All I have to concentrate on there is NOT eating too many of those cheddar biscuits! If I can accomplish that, I should be fine.

Busy, Busy …

Tuesday, February 10th, 2004

Wow, this has been a busy week for me so far. I’m trying to get everything ready at work because I am taking next week as vacation. I’m not going anywhere, but it was a good deal to take vacation time since I get Monday as holiday, Tuesday is my birthday, and Friday is my regular day off. Since I have a few comp hours I can use, the entire week of will only cost me 19 hours of vacation.

Plans for said vacation include some massive spring cleaning and decluttering. Needless to say, lots of cross stitching time in on the agenda as well.

On the weight loss front, things are going well. I’m down a couple of pounds already since my last weigh-in and it was only on Saturday. I still have 3 more full days to go before my next weigh-in at Weight Watchers, so I’m hopeful for a really nice loss this week.

I had a GREAT time this afternoon meeting up with some of my fellow stitchers from the Teresa Wentzler Bulletin Board for a get together. Kate graciously hosted us in the Club House at her apartment. I got to meet Kate, Laurel, and Debbie.

We ventioned out on a short walk to a nice restaurant/brewing for lunch and then stopped into the Golden Spoon for some frozen yogurt. We then made the short walk back to the club house to stitch and chat. I got in about 30 minutes worth of stitching on the Mirabilia cherub that I’m working on right now.

Last week Kate finished Spirit of Christmas by Told in a Garden which happens to be on my current wish list. After seeing hers, it’s DEFINITELY going to be a purchase for me in the near future.

I did take a couple of pictures with my digital camera. You can view them here.

On the weight loss front, I was a bit discouraged today with my weigh in. I stayed 100% on program this week and barely used any of my FlexPoints, but I was only down 0.2 of a pound. Hopefully all of this week’s hard work will catch up with me next week.

Report Hell

Wednesday, February 4th, 2004

I’m at the office, but bored out of my mind at the moment.  I’m putting together a report for my boss which is very tedious and VERY boring.

Ok…back to the salt mines.

Cats RR

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2004

I started working today on my part of Felicia’s piece for the cats round robin for the TWBB Round Robin board.  I got a couple of hours in on it, so I’m about a third of the way through with the cross stitching and will then just have to go back and do the backstitching.  I should finish it this weekend, if all goes well.

On the weight loss front, today was another successful day.  I stayed well within my points, got in 13 glasses of water, and 6 servings of fruits & veggies.  I had planned on exercising tonight after work, but I was too tired.  I’m going to try and get in a workout tomorrow.

New Home

Monday, February 2nd, 2004

Well, I’ve decided to move my blog over to Blogger from my old hosting company. I decided using this interface will be MUCH easier than having to do everything manually using HTML. It’s way too much work to try and copy everything over, so I’m just kind of starting fresh here. Unfortunately, that also means I’m losing my entries from the past couple of years. (
