Ok, I realize I’ve not posted on my blog in a long time and that this entry is nothing but a bitch session, but I need to vent somewhere.
To a particular man in Los Angeles who shall remain nameless for reasons of privacy (but if you read this, you know who you are):
Yes, I realize that I still have a significant amount of weight to lose, and yes, I also realize that my hair is very thin (for reasons about which you have NO clue, by the way). These 2 things do NOT give you the right to tell me that if it weren’t for my weight and thinning hair that I’d be the perfect woman! Please do not think that just because you prefaced that particular remark with how pretty, intelligent, witty, etc. that I am, that it somehow atones for the comments about my weight & hair. Just who the fuck do you think you are to say this not only to my face, but in front of a group of other people to boot? Does you brain not engage before your mouth opens? Clearly, it does not.
Yes, it would be very easy for me to go into a long diatribe of things that I could point out about you as well, but that’s not the type of person I try to be. I’ve always believed in trying to build up those around me rather than tearing them down with insensitivity and pettiness. Perhaps you might try to remember this philosophy before you open your mouth to someone else and make comments to them like the ones you made to me today.
I don’t care what we said when we were kids about sticks & stones. Words hurt. Words cut.
