Another biscornu

I finished up my second biscornu last night. I really like the way this one turned out, too! This one is also part of an exchange and was mailed today en route to the recipient whom I hope will like it as much as I did. I had a really difficult time putting it into the mail and will definitely be stitching another for myself!

Here are a few pics:

The designs are from R&#233pertoire des Frises by Val&#233rie Lejeune. I ordered it couple of months ago from Amazon France after I saw a copy at Terri’s house. The designs in it are just awesome! The fibers used are Gentle Arts Shaker Threads in Old Red Paint and Old Blue Paint. I’m not 100% sure what the fabric is because it was a remnant I had in my stash and I had forgotten to mark what it was.

Anyway, it was a lot of fun to stitch. It took me about 10 hours, not including the finishing time which took about another hour. I could see myself easily becoming addicted to these things!

Happy stitching!

90-Day Challenge: Day 25 of 90

I was very hesitant going into today as I knew the retirement party I’ve been planning for my coworker was this evening. I nibbled a bit on the vegetarian-friendly options and did really well, I think, when everything was said and done. I got to mix and mingle at the party, nibble on a few tasty treats, and send my coworker off into her retirement with what will hopefully be wonderful memories of a fun evening.

I was really nervous most of the day about how things would go this evening. So, it was really reassuring to have so many people tell me as they were leaving what a wonderful time they had and that it was one of the best retirement parties they had attended.

2 Years …

Today was kind of a milestone for me. Two years ago today, I decided enough was enough and I kicked my cheating ex-husband out and filed for divorce. In many ways, it seems so much longer than just 2 years. It hasn’t always been easy and he certainly put me through a LOT of hell up until our divorce was finalized. Even though there have been some stressful times, it’s been worth it to no longer allow myself to be used by him.

On the stitching front, I had hoped to post pictures tonight of another finished biscornu, but I forgot it at the office. So, not only do I not have pics of it to post, it’s not actually finished because it’s still sitting on my desk at work which means I couldn’t finish it tonight. Since I didn’t have it, I spent a bit of time working on my Quaker RR piece that has to go out in the mail on Tuesday. I really love the fabric and colors I ended up selecting. I think it’s going to be so beautiful by the time it makes it way around to each of the 7 other stitchers before making it’s way back here to me.

Happy Stitching!
