Thursday, Nov. 30 – Day 25 of 50

Well, it’s Thursday and if you’re a regular reader of my blog, you know that means it’s weekly weigh in day for me. I was down another half pound this week. I’m frustrated at how slowly things are going, but considering I’m on some strong pain medication and unable to exercise due to my neck injury, I guess I should be happy that I’m losing at all. This brings my total loss for my New Year challenge up to 3.5 pounds of my 10 pound goal. As slowly as I’m losing, I doubt I’ll meet my goal, but as long as I’m losing consistently (which I have been), I’ll be happy.

Today also marks the halfway point in my 50 day OP challenge. I’m feeling pretty positive about it. Given that I’m not able to work right now due to the neck injury, this means I’m not at the office around all of the holiday food temptations. So, as long as I can keep my emotional eating in check at home, I think I should be OK.

Oooh…pretty

Someone very dear to me made my day. I got these beautiful flowers late this afternoon. It’s the first time I’ve ever gotten 2 dozen roses. =D My apartment smells wonderful!

Roses

As for my stitching, I’m still plugging away on Quaker Samplings I. I hope to finish it up tomorrow, if possible. Either way, I’ll try to get a progress picture posted tomorrow.

I had a wonderful time over the weekend with some fellow stitchers. We went to one of the local needlework shops to check out their post-Thanksgiving sale. They had everything 25% off. I managed to control myself since I had already partaken of sales at Needlecraft Corner and Stitching Bits & Bobs. I did pick up a beautiful piece of 32-count Jobelan fabric in Waterlily. Now I’m on the quest for the right green fiber to go with it. I want to use it to stitch the companion Quaker Samplings II.

On the medical front, I had my appointment last week with the orthopedist. He basically said there was nothing he could do for me and is now referring me to a neurosurgeon. So, it’s back to the waiting game … yet again.

Happy stitching!
