One Woman Learning to Live Her Best Life

February 2007Monthly Archives

Monday, February 12

I forgot to mention in my blog yesterday that I went back to a WW meeting on Sunday. This is the first meeting I’ve been to since they revamped the program. Based on the new formula for calculating one’s personal points target, I now get 29 points per day instead of the 28 which was my previous target. It won’t last very long, but I’ll enjoy that extra point while I have it. )

I did have a HUGE gain when I weighed in on Sunday. It’s really amazing how quickly weight can come back on after working so hard to lose it. no I’m hopeful that by getting back OP and having a good week that a lot of that will be gone by my next WI. I’m planning to switch to a Saturday meeting, so I won’t actually have another WI until February 24 which gives me almost 2 full weeks to rid myself of the temporary “fluff”.

Sunday, Feb. 11

Sorry for the long delay between updates everyone. I had a really bad week with my food last week. I’ve grown increasingly frustrated with my on-going health issues and my HMO dragging their heels approving various tests the doctors have ordered. After a few months of holding it together and staying OP, I finally gave in to those frustrations and turned to a LOT of emotional eating. no I’m now trying to get my act back together.

Taj Update/QQX12

Ok, my new rotation has officially gone completely out the window. lol I’m enjoying stitching on Taj so much that I’m just going with it for now. I figure this piece is large enough that I’ll probably want a break at some point, but as long as I’m feeling so motivated on it right now, I’m just going to keep on stitching.

Here’s my latest progress pic at 50 hours of stitching time:

Taj - 50 hours

I can also post the pictures of the piece I did for the Quaker Quarterly exchange now since I know that Darlene received it. I made her a Quaker pinkeep. This was my first time ever making a pinkeep, so I was very nervous about it. For a first try, I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. )

I stitched this on 28-count Chai Tea hand-dyed Jobelan fabric using DMC Color Variations 4130 floss. The front is a motif from the Le Quaker à 6 Mains freebie (from Gigi, Carinne, and Jackye) stitched over 2. The wording on the back is stitched over 1.

Happy stitching!

QQX12 Goodie

I received my Legacy board Quaker Quarterly Exchange 12 piece in the mail yesterday. Margaret (kittychernoff) made me a beautiful pinkeep ornament and sent along a wonderful handmade card with it. ) The theme for the exchange was “new”. In her card, she indicated that nearly all of the finishing was new to her. It was her first time combining linen & fabric, using a foam base, and making twisted cord. I think she did a fabulous job!! D
