I’ve been Tagged!

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Tracy tagged me a few days ago, but I’m just now getting around to responding.

The challenge: List 7 things about myself

  1. I’m originally from Lynchburg, TN — the home of Jack Daniels Distillery — but I’ve been living in southern California for over 10 years.
  2. I once appeared in a television commercial for STP gas treatment with Johnny Cash and Richard Petty.
  3. I’ve been to 45 of the 48 contiguous states in the United States.
  4. I’ve visited the stadiums for 21 of the 30 major league baseball teams. I’ve actually been to 25 stadiums since I’ve visited both old & new stadiums for 4 teams.
  5. I sponsor 2 girls in India through Children International.
  6. I came in 2nd place in a state typing contest in high school. (107wpm/1 error).
  7. I lost 100 pounds — and I’ve actually kept 75 off.

Pretty much all of the stamping/scrapping blogs I read have already been tagged. So, if you’re reading this and haven’t been tagged, consider yourself done so.

Ok, I’m a very happy bunny right now! Any of my long time blog readers will know that I’m a big fan of the Clif Organic Z-bars. Yes, I know they’re “intended” for kids, but I think they’re great for adults as a healthy snack. They’re organic, baked, whole grain, trans fat free, have no high fructose corn syrup, have no preservatives, have 12 vitamins and minerals, and (the best part) taste great, in my opinion. What’s not to love about that?

Anyway, I normally buy these bars in bulk at Trader Joes. Buying them in bulk doesn’t save me any money as they still charge me 49 cents each for me, but it does save me making so many trips to Trader Joes. )

I recently purchased a box from Amazon (worked out to the same price per bar as TJs) when I was ordering something else so I could qualify for free shipping. As a result of that purchase, I got an email this morning recommending a few other similar products. One of these other products was a variety pack of Z-bars. I was thrilled seeing that they offered the variety pack as I can only buy boxes of a single flavor at TJs. So, I click on the link to check it out. Once I get to the page to read about it, I notice that not only is it a variety pack, but it’s part of their “Subscribe and Save” program. It’s basically an auto-ship plan where you pick the quantity and frequency you want and they just automatically ship it to you and charge your credit card when they do. The best part? When you sign up, you save 15% off the regular price AND get free shipping on every order! 8) Yes, I immediately signed up. lol

So, I’ll be saving money, I’ll have more of a variety of flavors, and they’ll be shipped right to my door each month. Yes, I’m a very happy bunny right now. yes

Cabin Pinkeep ornament

Friday, July 20th, 2007

I feel like a dork for always starting each entry with an apology for the long lapse of time since my previous entry. I’ve been having a rough transition getting back to work, so I’ve not been stitching. Since I haven’t been stitching, there’s not really been anything to write about here.

I did get my Prairie Schooler ornament exchange finished and mailed. Since it’s been received already, I thought I would share the pictures here. This is from the 2002 Just Cross Stitch ornament issue.

On the health front, my doctor has extended my part time work for another 2 weeks. This stems from the fact that I’ve been coming home every day since I went back to work last Monday being extremely tired every day and having neck pain on several days. So, this tentatively bumps my return to full time work again up to August 6.

I guess that’s it for now. Happy stitching!
