Cabin Pinkeep ornament

I feel like a dork for always starting each entry with an apology for the long lapse of time since my previous entry. I’ve been having a rough transition getting back to work, so I’ve not been stitching. Since I haven’t been stitching, there’s not really been anything to write about here.

I did get my Prairie Schooler ornament exchange finished and mailed. Since it’s been received already, I thought I would share the pictures here. This is from the 2002 Just Cross Stitch ornament issue.

On the health front, my doctor has extended my part time work for another 2 weeks. This stems from the fact that I’ve been coming home every day since I went back to work last Monday being extremely tired every day and having neck pain on several days. So, this tentatively bumps my return to full time work again up to August 6.

I guess that’s it for now. Happy stitching!

I have a Cuttlebug!

I came home yesterday to find a box on my doorstep. I was thrilled to see it was the Cuttlebug that I ordered over the weekend. I was shocked it arrived so soon since I got free shipping on my order. The bad part, I was so tired and in pain last night that I didn’t even feel like playing with it.

I pulled it out this morning and checked everything out. The only assembly that was required was attaching the handle which was easy peasy. Within about 2 minutes after pulling it out of the box, I was embossing.

I definitely need to play around with it more. I used some CTMH Hydrangea card stock (mostly because I have a TON of it) to practice. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or if it’s just due to using such a dark card stock, but I did notice that I have lots of white showing through where I embossed. This would be fine if I wanted a distressed look and was going to scuff it anyway, but I won’t always want that look and want to figure out how to do it without having the white show.

Here are a couple of pics of my practice from this morning. Pardon my busy ironing board cover.
