S.E.X. & Jewelry Making 101
I had a GREAT weekend! On Saturday, I went and all day open stitch class at my LNS. As per norm, there was lots of stitching, laughing, and shopping.
I tried to restrain myself from buying too much, but the owner extended her moving sale which meant kits were still 35% off and charts were still 15% off. So, I did end up picking up a couple of things. Here’s what I bought:
Brave Hearts - Little House Needleworks
A Chill is in the Air - Homespun Elegance (Limited Edition Kit) - photo does NOT do the beautiful colors in this piece justice!
Snowman - Shepherd’s Bush (I haven’t found this at any of the online stores, so this is a link to someone’s completed piece that I found on Webshots.)
I’ve also picked up a few other new stash goodies last week that I don’t think I’ve mentioned yet in my blog. I’ve definitely be taking advantage of some of the shops offering year end sales, that’s for sure!
Crescent Colors floss for Curly Q Ewe - Little House Needleworks
Belle Soie silks for Acorn Hill - Little House Needleworks
Belle Soie silks for Prairie Sampler - Little House Needleworks
Summer Sampler threadpack - Little House Needleworks
Autumn Sampler threadpack - Little House Needleworks
Winter Sampler threadpack - Little House Needleworks
Quarter cut of Weeks Dye Works 30-count Parchment linen
After leaving the LNS, I headed out with my stitching buddy Nancy to her house for the evening. Her DH is a musician and had a gig that night, so we decided to just extend our stitching day into the night. Ironically, neither one of us stitched after leaving the shop.
She recently started making jewelry and decided to indoctrinate introduce me to this whole new world. By the time I went home that night, I had a new bracelet and 3 pair of earrings. They’re all make with sterling silver hardware and Swarovski crystals. All in all, I think I did pretty good for my first effort. Here are a couple of pics:
Well, that’s all for this update. I hope everyone is having a great December thus far and that all the holiday craziness isn’t making everyone crazy.
Happy stitching!

Pretty jewelry - but PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!!!!! It starts out so simply, and the next thing you know, you’ve got a whole box filled with tools and beads, and tons of ideas you’re just itching to try. I know. It happened to me.
(ppsssstttt…. I have some really great bead websites on my blog….

Your jewelry is so pretty! The Same thing happened to me as Sweet Pea! In fact I’m planning a trip to the bead store today to find sterling silver hardware because I’m planning on making some Christmas presents and don’t want them to tarnish. Glad you had fun at your stitch in and great stash haul!

Sweet Pea - thanks for letting me know about your links. I spent some time last night checking them out.
Thanks, Nicole! I definitely plan on buying some of the sterling hardware for myself, too. It looks so much prettier in person than in the pictures, IMO.

Beads!!! She’s playing with Beads!!!
Good work! I used to do cross stitch before these little pieces of glass reached in and grabbed the floss right out of my hand. But these little pieces of glass won!

Wonderful stashing. I hadn’t seen the Snowman by SB before he’s lovely. Nice LHN picks. I also have Acorn Hill and most of the seasonal samplers, they are so pretty.
