George Carlin was probably the first comedian I was ever “aware” of as I was growing up, although I didn’t TRULY appreciate his comedy until I was grown. ) The world has lost an amazing talent. Here’s a clip of my favorite Carlin bit:

Of course, it’s hard to post a tribute to George Carlin with the Seven Words bit, too. (Warning: If you are offended by harsh language, you might want to skip this one.)

Rest in peace, George!

I will miss George and his commentary on our society. As much as he was a comedian, I also viewed him as a social observer, and even if you did not always agree with what he had to say, he almost always made you think. I have one of his old HBO specials from 1990 or so on videotape. I think I need to watch it this weekend. yes
