I feel like an abject failure on the bike. Good sense would have told me to learn to ride a bicycle and THEN sign up for my first triathlon. Unfortunately, I didn’t listen to my good sense. So, now here I am just 16 weeks from my first triathlon and still can’t figure out how to ride a fucking bicycle. ARRRGH!!!
Everyone keeps telling me how easy it is and how I just need to do this thing or that thing. Well, I.just.don’t.get.it! I can barely ride 8 yards, let alone trying to ride the 8 miles required for the race. I’m beginning to feel like I should just give up this whole stupid triathlon dream I have and stick with running.

If anyone can do this – it’s you!
(((hug)))
hang in there – I could barely swim before my first tri and I managed. It wasn’t pretty but I finished.
Right outta your own Random Quotes:
You measure the size of the accomplishment by the obstacles you had to overcome to reach your goals. –Booker T. Washington
You *can* do it.
(((Hugs))) You can do it. You have 16 weeks to figure it out. Once you get the trick of balancing and such, you can build miles more quickly on the bike than you can with running.
IT WILL COME.
and I loved how you just dropped the f-bomb and kept writing.
seriously
for me to bike there would be myriad swear words and many of my own creation BUT we’d both get there!

Is it that you physically can’t or you can’t figure out the shifty thingys?
You CAN do it! Good luck on figuring it all out. Is there perhaps a coach you could consult?
mel … what is it about the bike that’s got you all in a dither? more details, please! there’s ABSOLUTELY NOTHING you can’t figure out if you put your heart and mind into it. we just gotta believe that, girl … otherwise … please pass the ho-hos! thinking of you.
Im so impressed you are DOing this (not TRYing yes?
) and I hear you one hundred percent on the frustration.
can you set it aside for a day or so and just VISUALIZE doing it (ala The Secret)?
Im certain the fab endurance bar people can lend a hand!!
hang in there,
Miz.
