One Woman Learning to Live Her Best Life

Weigh In & Artichoke Dip

I’m back from my Weight Watchers meeting. Even though I went to a meeting last Sunday to hear about the new program, today was my regular meeting and the one at which I chose to do my “official” weigh in for the week. I’m happy to report that I was down 1.4 pounds. ) With that loss, I also earned my first 5 pound star since rejoining last month. 8) Given all the holiday temptations everywhere, I’m really pleased with my average weekly loss of nearly a pound per week. =D

It was definitely interesting hearing another leader’s presentation of the new plan. I didn’t really pick up anything new vs. what I heard at the meeting on Sunday, but it was nice just hearing the explanation again after being on the plan all week.

I really think I’m going to like this plan. I know it’s already helped me be more focused this week on thinking not only about the food choices I’m making, but also on whether or not I’m actually hungry when I want to eat something. I also think having the option to track your hunger level in the food journal is a great reminder to stop and think about it throughout the course of the day. Well done on that one, WW! yes

The leader also had a dip recipe up on the flip chart that sounded really awesome! I snapped a picture of it with my iPhone so I didn’t have to take the time to try and write it down. It’s an artichoke dip that is 1 point per scant 1/4 cup (between 3-4 tbsp). She recommended that you could cut back a bit on the Parmesan cheese and it would still be fine. She made it by the recipe and thought the Parmesan flavor was a bit too strong in her opinion. Here’s the recipe (click image for an even larger version):

In closing, I just have to say that I now wonder how on earth I ever managed without a camera phone. I don’t think I’ll EVER write down another recipe at a WW meeting again. lol I’ve also been using it at work lately to take photos of the white board after brainstorming sessions. It’s nice knowing I have a backup image to which I can refer to make sure I didn’t miss capturing anything in my notes. I love technology.
