Well, it’s been two weeks since I got my new inserts and one week since I received my night splint. I’m happy to report that as a result, my plantar fasciitis (PF) is doing much better! The pain in my heel has subsided tremendously. The podiatrist did warn me that even though it should start feeling better that I need to keep wearing the night splint for 10-12 weeks for maximum benefit.
Speaking of the night splint, I could not have imagined that what I would end up getting would be worse than the initial photo the podiatrist showed me during my consultation. This thing is so bulky that it practically feels like I’m sleeping in a ski boot! I even had small bruises on my opposite leg the first couple of days until I got used to it.
In closing, for today’s photo du jour, I’ll leave you with a pic of my night splint. Isn’t it sexy?! I just know you all want one as well, right?

Mel, I’m stalking your blogs tonight. I thought I remembered you had a bout with plantar fasciitis. I *finally* went to the podiatrist today and was diagnosed with it. I now have the lovely boot like yours. I had a cortisone shot too. So much for doing anything for the next few weeks. I have just blown the dust off my WW materials, so I’m really bummed – but guess I will need to find some exercises to do, and really watch my points.
Just wanted to post in case you saw weird searches and stalkings on your blog tonight – it’s ME!! LMAO
