I too know what it’s like to separate yourself from your family. I haven’t seen or spoken to my parents or siblings in over four years. It was not a decision I made easily, but it was the right one for me. I’ve had to explain why on more than one occasion; it’s difficult for people who haven’t gone through it to relate to what you’re going through. The decision has also cost me much of my extended family You’re more than welcome to email me if you want to talk or need support.
