Thanks to knocking out a few ornaments, I’m making great progress on my 25 project stash-diet challenge. I managed to get two more stitched up this weekend. One is a Christmas ornament, and the other is for Halloween. They are both website freebies from The Stitcherhood.
As for the fabrics, I’m not sure what the color of the fabric is for either ornament, but they are both from Lakeside Linens. They came from a Lakeside ornament cut grab bag that I got last year from Shakespeare’s Peddler. She actually still has them listed on her specials page (scroll down the section with the fabric photo). You get 30 pieces of linen in a variety of counts and colors (pieces are roughly 6 by 6 inches) for just $40.00.

In other stitching related news, I’ve signed up for a class being offered at my LNS at the end of next month. The class is being taught by Ellen Chester of With My Needle. I’ve always wanted to take one of Ellen’s classes, so how could I pass it up when it’s being offered just 7 miles from my home?
Here is a photo of the piece she will be teaching:
The piece is “Call of the Sea“. It’s not necessarily a piece that I would normally stitch as it’s not my typical style as I don’t usually stitch nautical-inspired pieces. However, it’s just too darned convenient to take the class since 1) it’s so close to home and doesn’t require any travel, and 2) it will hopefully help sway the LNS owner to offer more linen classes (she mostly offers canvas classes). Darla and Margaret are also signed up for the class, so we should have a lot of fun.
In closing, I just want to thank everyone for their comments on the new look of my blog. I’m really loving the new theme. It makes me smile every time I look at it, so I may keep it for a while.
That’s it from me for now. I hope everyone had a great weekend! Until next time …

Mel,
Love the work! How long does it usually take you to make one of those?
I’d love to pay you to make one for me! <3
Great fabric pic for Boo.
I’m not much of a nautical stitcher either, but I think I would’ve signed up for that class too.
