In a former iteration of this blog, I used to post a lot of cross stitching and needlework stuff. Ultimately, I kind of transitioned into just posting about my weight loss journey on Weight Watchers. Part of that came about because I must less time for stitching when I made the decision to go back to college. Once I graduated a couple of years ago and had time to stitch again, I found my eyesight wasn’t as good as it used to be and stitching became a struggle. Thankfully, with the purchase of some reading glasses recently, I’m able to stitch again!
With that in mind, I’m going to start posting stitching updates here on my blog again along with my Weight Watchers stuff. I’m still going to keep my cardmaking blog separate, so if you’re interested in seeing my handmade cards, you can check out my other blog at melscardcorner.com.
Since I’m stitching again, I’ve decided to join the Year of WIPs (works in progress) challenge organized by Melanie Watkins. You can learn more about the challenge by checking out her YouTube video with all the details. I figured since I’m just now getting back into stitching, I should probably tackle some of my many WIPs rather than starting new projects. Here are the 11 projects I’ve selected to focus on during this challenge (in order from oldest to newest):
So, there you have it. This is my list for the Year of WIPs challenge. I’ll be trying to finish as many of these pieces as possible over the next year. There are no limitations on new starts or anything like that with this particular challenge, but as many WIPs as I have (this list is only about a third of them), I really want to focus as much as possible on working on these. I’m going to try my best not to start anything new. One exception will definitely be the National Parks Birthday Club from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery which I recently purchased. I’m really hoping to start it this month. I just need to decide on a fabric from my stash and pull the fibers.
Until next time …
