After taking a hiatus from Weight Watchers meetings for a few months, I went back to a meeting today and it couldn’t have been a better topic for me! The discussion was about figuring out our weight loss superpower. It’s so much easier to focus on the things we feel are our weight loss Kryptonite, but focusing on our superpowers instead can help us keep the Kryptonite contained so we don’t give in to the negative thoughts.
While my Kryptonite is letting how much I have to lose get the better of me, I need to remember it’s just my mind playing tricks on me. I CAN do this! On the flip side, my superpower is definitely my tenacity and perseverance. Even though I have a long journey to goal and may lose my weight from time to time when it comes to tracking and going to meetings, I REFUSE to give up. I will always find my way back to doing what I know I need to do to make forward progress.
I just wanted to give a shout out to one of my fellow Weight Watchers Ambassadors, Todd, who posted this very thought-provoking image on Connect recently. I’ve had it on my mind ever since I saw it. Given it’s been several months since I attended a meeting, I opted to do a “fresh start” weight record when I weighed in this morning. So, today is a new day one for me. To keep my aforementioned Kryptonite at bay, I’m just going to focus on taking this journey five pounds at a time rather than thinking about the big picture. So, goal number one is to lose five pounds!
The Summer Vision challenge at meetings this week is Share. So, I’m sharing. 🙂 I’m really hoping to start blogging more again. I’ll be attending my first WW Focus session this coming Saturday and figure my blog will be a great place to reflect on the things I learn about myself through the Focus sessions.
Until next time …
