Hi, everyone! My name is Melissa and I’m a Tennessee girl now living in southern California. I drink copious amounts of coffee and love to craft, read, and travel. I’m a total geek and love all things technology & gadgetry including my iPhone, iPad, Mac, Kindle, etc.
As I mentioned above, I love to craft. My two favorite ways to craft are doing counted cross stitch and creating handmade cards using photopolymer and/or rubber stamps. In addition to those, I also enjoy knitting, crocheting, and recently purchased my first diamond painting kit to give that a try.
My longest crafting hobby is definitely stitching. I started doing embroidery when I was around 8 years old, but once I discovered counted cross stitched when I was in high school, it was all over for embroidery. This year (2019) will be my 40th anniversary of being a cross stitcher. I can’t believe it’s been that long!
I’m currently a member of WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers) on a journey to better health. Their latest Freestyle program works great for me as a diabetic since it naturally moves members away from foods which are higher in sugar and refined/simple carbohydrates.
I lost 138 pounds about 15 years ago on an earlier version of the program and was getting pretty close to my goal weight. Unfortunately, I then went through a very ugly divorce followed by spinal issues which resulted in regaining most of that over a 2-3 year period. I’m now working to get the weight off again. It’s not an easy journey, and I often find myself taking “scenic detours” from time to time, but I know I will eventually reach my destination of a healthy weight.
Thanks for visiting my blog! I hope you’ll come back often.
