Am I Evil?

Just a bit, perhaps … lol

You Are 44% Evil

You are evil, but you haven’t yet mastered the dark side.
Fear not though - you are on your way to world domination.

Well, according to the xkcd webcomic, it seems as long as we either knit or blog, that we’re relatively safe. lol

Password

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

Yes, it’s that time of year when I’m working on holiday gift-giving projects. As a result, I’ll be password protecting some of my posts until after the holidays. If you would like to view these posts, just email me for the password. As long as you aren’t the possible recipient wink I’ll be happy to send it along.

I’ll be using a couple of different passwords, so please let me know the subject and/or date of the entry you want to see. This way I’ll be sure to send you the correct password. )

In the meantime, here is a little diversion for you:

Stitch Inn Photos

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

I finally got around to downloading my photos tonight from the Stitch Inn I went to on Saturday. Rather than posting them all here, I’m just going to provide a link to the photo album for them.

Stitch Inn Photos

I am going to share one here since it’s a finish for the year for me. One of the projects we received that night was for a nametag kit stitched on the rectangular shaped Tokens & Trifles card. I finished mine earlier today and was pretty pleased with how it turned out. I did choose a slightly different alphabet for my name than what was provided (a block alphabet).

Name Tag

I’ve never had a stitched name tag before, so I’m pretty happy to have one. It will probably come in handy on Wednesday night. I’m planning to attend my first ever EGA meeting. It may be a pretty empty meeting though because I know from conversation that took place at the Stitch Inn that this week was a stitching cruise for the Pacific Southwestern Region.

I have a bit of a project that I’m going to be undertaking as soon as I’m feeling up to it. I purchased some used cabinets from Terri that I’m going to use for my stitching stash and card-making supplies. Well, at last, for as much of it as they will hold. lol

Her DH was such a sweetheart that he drove them up here and then assembled them for me. The only thing I’ll have to do it put the shelves in them once I start organizing and have an idea of how I want them spaced. I’m very excited because this is the first time I’ve ever had cabinets or anything specifically for organizing my stash. ) Here’s a pic:

On the non-stitching front, I just have to share a photo of an envelope I made tonight. I’ve been making my own handmade greeting cards for 2 or 3 years now, but I’ve always purchased envelopes in the past. I decided to try my hand at making my own envelopes so they could coordinate with my cards better.

So, I bit the bullet and bought an envelope template set last year and then promptly put it in a drawer and never used it. X Well, I pulled it out tonight and attempted my first card. I even got ambitious and made a lined envelope rather than just a plain one. I’m happy to report that my first attempt came out well enough that I’m actually going to use it. The card even fits! lol I made it to coordinate with the card I’m sending my mom for Mother’s Day. Here’s a couple of pic:

Well, I guess that’s it for now. I’m heading off to bed to try and get some much needed sleep. I’m still recovering from Saturday night. Happy stitching!

Stitch Inn

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

Last night, my LNS hosted an all night Stitch Inn. Well, it didn’t technically last all night, but pretty darn near close. The last of us left the store around 3:45am. I had a BLAST, but I am SOOOOO tired today.

We had a wonderful dinner of Mexican food in honor of Cinco de Mayo. We also got a couple of projects designed specifically for the Stitch Inn from wonderful ANG/EGA teacher and designer, Margaret Bendig. We’re so lucky to have her living locally and active at the shop! I’m still shocked she stayed up so late that night given that she was getting ready to leave on an EGA regional cruise on Monday. Then again, several of the other attendees that night were going to be on the same cruise, so I guess it’s all good. lol

One is a cross-stitched name tag done on a rectangular Tokens & Trifles card. The other is a counted canvas frame weight project. There were also some special sales going on for us just while we were there last night. One of which was 50% off all pre-packaged fabrics, so I picked up a few pieces of 36-count Edinborough linen in Antique White, Light Sand, and Flax. I did take my camera and took some pictures during the course of the night, but haven’t downloaded them from my camera yet. Once I do, I’ll post some here.

Darla was also there last night, but she had a take off around midnight since she had to work today. Amazing enough, she set aside her beloved Lugana and worked on the canvas project. I even have a picture to prove it! lol

Terri was also supposed to be there with us, but wasn’t able to do so at the last minute unfortunately. Her DH had driven up to my place in his Jeep to bring me some stash cabinets that I bought from Terri. (I’ll post a pic of those soon, too.) After driving over 50 miles to get here, the clutch went out on his Jeep about 1/2 block from my apartment. So, instead of sticking around and going to the Stitch Inn, she had to drive home with him after they had the Jeep towed to a garage. I’m not sure who felt worse about it, me and Terri or her DH. I think it was him. wink

I do have a couple of other pictures that I can post today though. The first is an adorable critter frame weight I recently acquired. I picked it up at my LNS, but they’re made by Cindi from Bring Your Canvas to Life. I named mine “Heavy B” after it was suggested by a dear friend. Given that he’s full of BB’s and weighs a couple of pounds, it seemed apropos. )

Heavy B

Here’s something else I stumbled across one day last week that made me chuckle. At that price, I don’t think I really need a toile sewing basket. =O

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Happy stitching!
