Anyone who knows me well could tell you in a heartbeat that my favorite fast food place is definitely Subway. It’s quick, easy, the food is fresh, and it’s so easy to have a healthy meal there. I try to limit myself to eating out no more than once or twice per week and Subway is usually where I go.
Well, if you guys have been watching any TV this week, you may have spotted ads for their latest sandwich creation on the Fresh Fit Menu . It’s called the Oven Crisp Chicken and, as you may have deduced from the name, it’s baked in the oven and not fried! Love that! The folks at Subway were nice enough to send me a $25 gift card so I could go pick up one of the new sandwiches and give it a try.

I have to say, I really enjoyed this sandwich! The chicken was moist and the breaded coating was definitely reminiscent of a fried chicken cutlet. According to the nutrition info on their website, the 6″ sandwich is 420 calories and only 6.7 grams of fat when ordered as they designed it. What’s really cool though is that if you click their “Your Build” button, you can customize it to exactly how your sandwich was made to get the exact nutrition information. Whether you follow Weight Watchers like me or count calories, having exact nutrition information makes it so much easier to stay on track. With my customizations (used a different bread & added cheese), my sandwich came in at 480 calories and 12 PointsPlus value for my Weight Watchers plan. It’s definitely higher in PointsPlus value than my normal Veggie Delite with cheese, but it was definitely a nice change of pace!

Since I knew my sandwich was higher in fat & calories than my usual choice, I decided to save some calories by foregoing my usual baked chips. Instead, I grabbed a bag of the Snapz apple crisps for my combo instead. They were also really tasty and only 45 calories! I’ll definitely be getting these again, even when I do get the Veggie Delite.
If you want to try the Oven Crisp Chicken sandwich for yourself, you’ll have to hurry! This is a limited edition sandwich and will only be around until September 30. To make it easier for one of my readers to try it, Subway is offering up a $25 gift card to one of my readers, too! Thanks Subway! This giveaway will run through 11:59pm EDT on Wednesday, August 24. The winner will be announced on Thursday, August 25.
I’m adding a new option with this giveaway to allow for multiple entries for tweeting about the giveaway. You can get one additional entry for each day you tweet about the giveaway. Please just be sure to send your tweet via the Rafflecopter panel below or otherwise it won’t be registered in the giveaway system for you to get the credit.
