First things first, thanks for all of your kind comments the past few days about both my weight loss and my stitchy update. I have the.greatest.blog.readers.evah!
Now, on to my update. I’m absolutely loving working on my M fairy by Nora Corbett.
In fact, she’s the only thing I’ve worked on since I started her on Saturday night.
Even though I posted a progress photo of her yesterday, I thought I would post another one today. I think I’m making really good progress on her. This photo isn’t the greatest because I snapped it here at the office using the camera on my iPhone under the fluorescent lighting.

Letters from Nora – Letter M
Designer: Nora Corbett
Fabric: 32-count Waterlily
Fibers: Crescent Colors, Treasure Braid
Stitched 2 over 2 except braid which is 1 over 2
Progress as of May 18, 2009
In case you’re wondering, no, I’m not stitching on her at work.
I brought her along because I plan to go to the Tuesday night stitching group at my LNS after I get done with physical therapy this afternoon.
I’ve also started trying to pull together my outfit for the Jen Lancaster Pretty in Plaid book signing taking place at the Barnes & Noble in Huntington Beach on Friday night. The whole book tour is 80′s-themed to go along with the book, so this is what I’ve come up with so far (pardon the lack of makeup):
Yes, that IS double popped collars, thank.you.very.much.
I really wanted some pink & green madras shorts, but couldn’t find any I liked that were available in my size.
I still need to find a pair of knock-off classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses (think Tom Cruise in Risky Business). I would also love to find some cheap penny loafers to wear (without socks, naturally
), but I’ve not had much luck with that so far. I may have to settle with just some classic Keds instead. Hmmm….wonder if anyone still makes jelly bracelets?
This will be the first book signing I’ve attended in several years. The folks at B&N might not like me too much since I have all of Jen’s books on my Kindle (Amazon product), but, oh well.
Until next time …
