WW & Stitching Updates

It’s Sunday, so that means I headed to my Weight Watchers meeting this morning. I was down 1.8 lbs (0.8 kg) this week. D This brings my loss since rejoining to 9.6 lbs (4.4 kg) and my total loss overall to 67.4 lbs (30.6 kg) pounds. I should (hopefully) get my 10 pound start at my next meeting. )

I’m still loving working on my M fairy. I realized looking at the chart last night just how big her wings are. If I’m going to finish her before I go back to work on Tuesday, I’m really going to have to push things into high gear and pretty much not do anything but stitch over the next day and a half. Oh darn, I guess that means the housework will just have to wait until some other time. lol

Here’s my progress as of last night:

Letters from Nora – Madeline Melissa
Designer: Nora Corbett
Fabric: 32-count Waterlily
Fibers: Crescent Colors, Treasure Braid
Stitched 2 over 2 except braid which is 1 over 2

Oh, and I had an awesome time at the Jen Lancaster book signing on Friday night. She encouraged everyone to come out in their totally 80′s finest. Here was my final look for the evening. )

What isn’t visible in that pic are the navy plaid shorts I wore. I was also wearing a pair of white Keds, without socks naturally. ) If you want to see more pics, you can find them here.

Until next time …

Another Fairy Update

I’m still cruising along working on my M fairy by Nora Corbett. Since I have a long 4-day holiday weekend, I’m really hoping finish her by the time I go back to work on Tuesday. )

This is my progress as of midday today (May 22):

M Fairy & Jen Lancaster

First things first, thanks for all of your kind comments the past few days about both my weight loss and my stitchy update. I have the.greatest.blog.readers.evah! 8)

Now, on to my update. I’m absolutely loving working on my M fairy by Nora Corbett. yes In fact, she’s the only thing I’ve worked on since I started her on Saturday night.

Even though I posted a progress photo of her yesterday, I thought I would post another one today. I think I’m making really good progress on her. This photo isn’t the greatest because I snapped it here at the office using the camera on my iPhone under the fluorescent lighting. bleh

In case you’re wondering, no, I’m not stitching on her at work. =P I brought her along because I plan to go to the Tuesday night stitching group at my LNS after I get done with physical therapy this afternoon.

I’ve also started trying to pull together my outfit for the Jen Lancaster Pretty in Plaid book signing taking place at the Barnes & Noble in Huntington Beach on Friday night. The whole book tour is 80′s-themed to go along with the book, so this is what I’ve come up with so far (pardon the lack of makeup):

Yes, that IS double popped collars, thank.you.very.much. lol I really wanted some pink & green madras shorts, but couldn’t find any I liked that were available in my size. bleh

I still need to find a pair of knock-off classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses (think Tom Cruise in Risky Business). I would also love to find some cheap penny loafers to wear (without socks, naturally ) ), but I’ve not had much luck with that so far. I may have to settle with just some classic Keds instead. Hmmm….wonder if anyone still makes jelly bracelets? lol

This will be the first book signing I’ve attended in several years. The folks at B&N might not like me too much since I have all of Jen’s books on my Kindle (Amazon product), but, oh well. =P

Until next time …

Stitchy Update

Ok, so I didn’t get around to this yesterday after all. Oops! X After I downloaded the photos from my camera, I just wasn’t happy with how they turned out when I saw them. I decided to wait instead and take some more pictures before posting. Here are my latest stitching adventures:

I also picked up what is basically the last of the items from my exceptions list for my 25 Project Challenge. The only items still remaining are the classes I’m taking this summer/fall. I also slightly modified my list to remove the Just Cross Stitch ornament issue because I will get it free anyway as part of my subscription to the magazine. I keep forgetting it’s included now and not a separate purchase. X

As for what I did pick up from my exceptions list, I went by my LNS on Saturday and bought the final 3 charts for Boo Club and the threadpack for ABC Lessons. Both are from Lizzie Kate. I have no idea yet when I’ll stitch ABC Lessons or what fabric I’ll use for it, but I knew I wanted to stitch it as soon as I saw it the first time. )

I guess that’s it for my stitchy update. Enough blogging about stitching and time to actually go stitch! lol Until next time …

Letters from Nora

Oh yeah, this is a definite must stitch for me. I’m so excited that I actually love her design for my monogram! I’ve only be so-so about some of the other letters thus far in the series, but I think the M rocks! love I’m definitely glad I added this piece to my exception list for my 25 project stash diet challenge. )

Also wanted to share that Edgar is having a drawing to celebrate his 2nd blogoversary. Pop by his blog for details on how to enter. His work is simply amazing!
