Tomorrow is Monday. Beyond that, tomorrow is also the start of a new month. For those who struggle with weight issues, that’s pretty much the ultimate when it comes to starting a new diet, getting back on track, whatever one is trying to do related to their weight. About the only thing that tops a new month that starts on a Monday would be if that new month Monday also happened to be in January. LOL So, here I am like so many other people struggling with their weight, I’ve made a decision to start fresh tomorrow.
As a bit of background, I’ve been overweight my entire adult life. I gained a little bit of weight in high school, but nothing too major. It wasn’t until I started college that I really started piling on the pounds. By the time I got married in my early 20s, I was already over 200 pounds and the scale just crept higher and higher as the years went by.
Over the years, I tried all kinds of diets — Diet Center, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, low fat, low carb, food combining, etc. You name it, I pretty much tried it. The only plan on which I ever had any real measurable success was Weight Watchers. With that in mind, that’s the program I’ll be following as I embark on My Last Day One tomorrow. I’m not striving to be perfect or lose a certain amount of weight each week. I don’t care if it takes me ten years to get to a healthy weight, I just know I need to start really focusing more on making that happen. For now, I’m just going to focus on doing what I can, when I can (a.k.a. wick-wick).
I still need to figure out a plan for this new blog. I will definitely be sharing my weekly weigh-in information here each Wednesday. I might also use it for sharing recipes, meal ideas, etc. I’m just not sure exactly what direction this blog will take yet.
I know that I inherently enjoy blogging. I just kind of want to do it for a while without all the worries of SEO (search engine optimization), analytics, branding, etc. I just really want to get back to the pureness of putting my words and thoughts on a digital piece of paper.
If you’re reading this, thanks for joining me on this journey!
Until next time …
